Baby Think it Over!
So, Kami is taking this Child Development class this year at school. They have the "Baby Think It Over" program.

So, the first thing she had to do was wear the 30 pound baby belly....yeah....not prepared to see this from my 16 year old....sending it to me at work through text:

Another phase of the program is to bring the baby home. Yeah. Just like a baby. It cries, coos, needs fed, needs a diaper change, needs held. It's neck is just like a real baby.
So, this treasure comes home for the whole weekend. When it starts to cry, Kami has two minutes to use this wristband she has on to "scan" over the baby. If she fails to do this within two minutes, she loses points for neglect. Yep, you guessed it, no matter what she's doing, she has two minutes to get to the baby. Don't worry about not hearing it.......it sounds, and is as loud as, a real baby.

All good things come with accessories:
A car seat:

The wristband:

Diaper bag with bottle:

And, coverup and receiving blanket:

So, when she came home with the baby yesterday, she was so excited because it slept the whole time....but us moms know the real issue with that, yep, up all night. Baby awoke Kami at 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, 3:30, 5:00, 5:30 a.m. I must admit, I did crack a smile as she was telling me the times this morning.
And......her good friend Megan has a baby too this weekend....guess where she and baby are. Yep, you guessed it. HERE! So, they're in this together!

Matt and I are leaving Kami and Megan with the twins, Ashlynn and her friend Madi, and we're going out for a peaceful dinner....good plan!

Men at Work
So, the City of Des Moines decided that we needed new sidewalk squares.....10 new squares to be exact. And they were so kind to give us 90 days to complete that task. So, Matt decided to recruit a couple of friends for some manual labor this weekend.
It's amazing the comments you hear on the deck:

"We'll just have a beer and think about it for awhile."

"Come on, be a man, just pick it up."

"AAUUGGHH - call workmen's comp!"

"I thought you said you were givin' us 125 bucks a square."
Nope, but how about some beer and steaks, fellas? I think there's some sore backs today.....thanks guys!
